About Jamspot The purpose of the site is to have musicians work together by creating digital audio.
This idea is not new and certainly not an invention of mine. I've copied the idea from a great collaboration site that you can find at artistcollaboration , where musicians work together on collaborations in all sorts of styles.
The reason that I started this site was to have musicians with the same mindset toward music playing together. Musicians from everywhere with a passion for jazz, jazz-rock, funk, fusion or what ever you want to call this type of music.
There is no need for a large amount of people getting involved here as a goal in it self. Rather not actually. What I have in mind is to form a group of people that stick to each other as if it were like playing in a band. That way, the development of a style will become possible.
This doesn’t mean that there is only room for one keyboard, guitar or bass player or one drummer. Contributing to a collaboration project can be a time consuming activity. Most musicians do lots of things whether playing music is their hobby or profession, like gigging in real life, rehearsing with their bands and maybe writing music.
So in my opinion there's nothing wrong in having two or maybe more instrumentalists of a kind. This goes especially for soloists like horn players.
The goals set for Jamspot are to have fun in the first place and to reach for an audience that can use, listen and redistribute our music freely after notifying the admin about their intentions. I really hope that I will find musicians willing to involve with this idea and I'm looking forward to hear from anyone.
